The event will be on Wednesday 30th May from 5.30 – 8.00pm in the Institute of Banking, 1 North Wall Quay, North Dock, Dublin 1
Registration will be from 5.30pm, the event will start at 6.00pm.
This event is being organised by Sage, in collaboration with the Institute of Banking, to promote public and professional awareness of the implications of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015. Speakers will explore the benefits and challenges of the legislation from the citizen’s perspective. It will also focus on the urgent need for legislation to protect the rights of people threatened with deprivation of liberty in a care facility, the importance of legislation to ensure safeguarding of adults who may be vulnerable and the need for a National Safeguarding Service and Agency.
This event will be of interest to health, social care, legal, financial and regulatory professionals, members of the media, An Garda Sióchana, NGOs, business groups, trade unions, citizens organisations concerned with the rights of vulnerable adults and older people and members of the general public with a particular interest in or concern with the challenges created by diminished capacity for decision-making.
