Fiona Whyte

Development & Case Worker (Regional Coordinator) Mid-West

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1983 and almost immediately started working in older person’s services.  I went on to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Stoma Care and set up the first community based Stoma Care clinic in Baggot Street Hospital in 1989. I became Director of Nursing in 2000 with the Health Service Executive in North Dublin. In 2005 I became involved with the HSE North Dublin Nursing Homes Inspectorate. I divided my time between the Inspectorate and my Director of Nursing role until 2008 when I transferred as Inspector Manager to the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA). I hold a BSc 1:1 in Nursing Management.
