Sage Advocacy expresses sadness at sudden death of John O’Driscoll

Sage Advocacy has expressed its sadness and sympathies at the sudden death yesterday of its Board member John O’Driscoll.

In a joint statement Chairman Mark Mellett and CEO Bibiana Savin said:

“Having joined our Board in 2023, John brought the same vision to Sage Advocacy as he brought to An Garda Siochana where he was Assistant Garda Commissioner and had served with integrity for 41 years.

“His interest regarding the complex safeguarding issues impacting on older and vulnerable people was deeply appreciated.

“Sage Advocacy is extremely grateful to have had one of Ireland’s greatest public servants working with us. We have no doubt that his contribution to vindicating the human rights of older and vulnerable people during his period with us will bear fruition.

“He will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to John’s family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.”
