Letterfrack survivor accesses mobility scooter through fundraiser, with practical support from Sage Advocacy

An article by Kitty Holland in the Irish Times on August 29, 2024, highlighted the story of Michael Dunne, a survivor of institutional abuse, who was housebound for more than two years while on a HSE waiting list for a suitable wheelchair to be supplied. The article reports on how, following a successful fundraising campaign, and with support of a Sage Advocacy representative with expertise as an occupational therapist, Mr Dunne is finally able to return to the shops and to his daughter’s house on the new mobility scooter that he received last week.
